barbara--I'm staying in a house where the pepper grinder is electronic and has a built in light. It's a lean litle artsy looking thing .If only I could get some pepper out of it.
I told my husband I need to die first. He loves technology and is the only one capable of running the TV, thermostat, security system, Alexa devices…and more.
Amen, sister! I love our smart phones, but every time they make something "new" it seems to be less usable for elders. (The clip from SNL is great). My husband is a retired computer geek, and even he gets frustrated from the unnecessary changes. (At least he understands the motivation. "Someone was angling for a promotion there"). The "new and _improved_" is just another money grab.
We have a few herons that nest and fish just below our house on Discovery Bay. Every time one stops in the pine tree, I think, "Ach! There's another teradactyl flying in from the Pleistocene!"
I can definitely relate Barbara; my other pet peeve is trying to open a plastic encased anything! I finally figured out that if I use the scissors that are intended to cut through bones works fairly well!
